1. Mick Howard & I used to collect sought after vinyl but now I’m just an old cumudgeonly ‘Victor Meldrew’ who thinks that things just ‘aint what they used to be’
2. Footsie by Wigans Chosen Few when it was on TOTP in 1975
3. Went to the Wirrina in Peterborough in the summer of 1976 and thought I’d died and gone to heaven – a full 8 hours of 3 minute tunes that I’d never heard before!!
4. Not any more
5. I sold my collection a few years ago. During my collecting days I DJ’d at various soul nights and a couple of smaller all nighters including Bury Town Hall, The White Feathers (I think thats what the venue was called) near Carlisle and Allanton Miners Welfare up here in Scotland.
6. Very difficult question to ask any music fan (of whatever genre) but I think that it has to be a choice between Frank Wilson’s Do I Love You or the 4 Pros’ Just Another Girl (both being pure slices of Motor City magnificence)
7. I can’t answer that as I don’t go often enough!
8. Try not to slag off other types of music (even within the Soul genre), be magnanimous in nature, love your fellow man and to use a now well worn cliche ‘keep the faith’ baby!

1. Yes just love it. Never really collect apart from the 30 40 i used to have during the late 70′s early 80′s ( wish i’d bloomin kept em ).
2. Cant remember but the early ones are probably ‘ The Flasher ‘ and Magic Potion. Then fell in love with Footsie no way i could do that dancing now )
3. I thought i’d gone to heaven.
4. No Never really dj just dance dance dance
5. Coz its what i love in life
6. Dean Parish will sing me behind the curtains, I’m on my Way
7. Although the net and my mp3′s are all I know at the moment it appears then scene is still going well.
8. From a 10 year old prancing around a to the sound of his brothers music watching him jumping out of the window to go to wigan to a 12 year old actually attending his first nighter. To attending many nighters and dancing the night away the thought of how wonderful the scene was and how bloody friendly everyone was. Those memories along with the music is forever young in my eyes. At 43 i am as enthusiastic about popping my cd’s in my car as going to a nighter 30 years ago. Dont you just love it.

1. Paul. and i’m not a collector of sought after vinyl. i just like hearing the tunes. some vinyl, cds, mp3s whatever. i want the real vinyl at soul nights – those guys have spent thousands, and years, collecting, but i don’t.
2.
My first soul track DR & Supremes – where did our love go, the first track i fell in love with that was ‘soul’ – but i already knew what it was.
3. I don’t know any of these tunes.
4. Very rarely – though i have done in past.
5. Not enough vinyl.
6. don’t know.
7. throbbing, vibrant, populous, brilliant. that will do me.
8. great site soul girl – prob the best ‘individual’ soul site there is. well done.
