 YIPEEEE!  Mace!

hiphugher 15 dec

This year’s format is going to be as it would have been last year, if it had been on, with an afternoon session for budding DJ’s, please contact Mick on the number below to book your session. We’re also throwing in a free buffet as well; afternoon only.

The All-Nighter kicks off at 8:00 and we have the two usual suspects, Des Parker & Mace headlining along with two guests; Mike Moylan from Derby and Paul Cross from the Albrighton All-Nighters.

Hotel Info; We’d be lying if we told you the rooms were going fast, although they’re going pretty steady in line with the previous All-Nighters that we’ve organised.

We also know that a few of you will be feeling a little bit apprehensive about booking up because of last year’s cancellation. The Management have assured us that everything is fine and are looking forward to welcoming you to the Mini-All-Nighter.

As in previous years we’ve been able to cut a deal with the Hotel with special room rates at £30.00 per person, checking in anytime after 15:00 on Saturday and checking out by 14:00 on the Sunday. This rate, due to the late checking out period does not include breakfast. Please make sure you book direct with the Hotel on 01934 626543, don’t use the phone number on the website below.

We look forward to seeing you all on December 15th; if you haven’t been before this is a belter of a night (well we’d say that as promoters!) but we feel the music policy we have here playing Northern, R&B, early Motown and a sprinkling of 7t’s hit’s the button for those that have been before.

These gigs are well worth attending. Chris Waterman with his wonderful partner Marcelle hold nothing back when promoting our beloved Soul.

And believe me, this venue is to die for complete with a balcony and a fantastic dance floor.

Sadly I’m unable to attend… Lotties dancing at Blackpool in the ISTD Grand Finals… wish her luck :D

PS: Guess who he’s bringing over with another promoter next January? Only the fucking Fabulous Peps, that’s who! Wooohooooooo :D

You can listen to the Fabulous Peps via my Soul Jukebox section – see menu top left!

I can’t wait :D

They also have another amazing nighter planned for 7 December with the magnificent Ronnie Walker! Don’t miss out!

THIS SHOW NOT TO BE MISSED , IT’S THE FIRST TIME FOR THE FABULOUS PEPS TO PERFORM IN THE UK

Oh what a night! It was absolutely rammed. 1½ hours up the motorway found us pulling up outside at the same time as Dave Abbott (who laughed that I’d overtaken them at 90 but still managed to get there at the same time). He laughed that perhaps we’d taken too long to find a parking space :D Lindsay made me laugh by measuring the length of the journey to the number of cans of larger she could drink. So Lightwater is a two can journey :D

We got there just as Maxine Woon was exciting the modern lovers which was around 9pm.

I finally got to meet the famous Bearsy And I thought the whole evening was bathed in good karma. It was great to see Russ Vickers, who having lost 2 stones recently, looked absolutely fabulous .

From 10pm onwards the dance floor was very busy indeed. Overspill to the carpet occurred as there wasn’t enough room! Saw lots of people I’ve not seen for a while which was lovely :)

Colin Smith was pissed as a fart – he’s so funny Oh, and Sharon and Roy decided that they were going to match-make a billionaire for me – I hope they find him soon

I hope you boys, Chris and Moldie, had a fabulous time. I’m sure I speak for everyone there in saying it was a brilliant evening both musically and company wise. Thank you!

The only downside was filling up with petrol on the way – everyone, avoid using the BP garage at Wallisdown opposite the Mount Batten Arms. £1.12 a fucking litre! It was cheaper on the way home at Fleet services for Shell Optimax!

Photos are up – click the Flikr logo top left!

Should be a cracking night! See you all there :D

You know it’s going to be a fabulous evening.  It’s a very cheap bar at £1.80 a pint and the dance floor is brilliant.

I’m very much looking forward to it :D

Keith Money! Bring it on :D

Chris Waterman says:

Hi All

well we can finally release the news that we have an event that we have been itching to yell about!!

We our heading back to our first home the wonderful CIS in Manchester on Friday December the 7th, we launched N.C.S on the 6th December 2003, it was a breath of fresh air to some and a pain in the rear to others.

Needless to say, Paul is never at home … ! As a Punter since day numero Paul has built up a wonderful 70s Modern Soul collection & is one of the regular jocks @ the very popular Chi-Soul All-dayers on the South Coast.

Prior to Heartburn!
My tummy was turning over in excitement at the thought of a night out in Bridgwater. The DJ line up was excellent including the Mighty Ginger Taylor. We’d been wonderfully looked after by Pete and Cathy Lyster back at their ranch who fed us with a great homemade pasta and demanded we drink copious amounts of plonk prior to the off.I sat there sipping my cool white whilst allowing my eyes to wander secretly around their kitchen… honestly, the kitchen is probably the size of my house and it took on the appearance of a wine cellar with an Aga in it :D I don’t think I could trust myself being surrounded by all that wine that’s for sure LOLMusically it was entertaining and something for everyone which to me makes a great soul night. I developed raging indigestion and felt awful so went to sleep in Lindsay’s car! :D That’s not Northern Soul is it! I was so looking forward to it then ruin it for myself :D

Anyway, we may venture to Bisley next weekend… I’ve not been there for years!

Oh, photo’s are up! camera_32.gif

Don’t miss our Summer night of Soul in Bournemouth! Everything from Northern, 60′s, Latin, Modern, 70′s and much more. We’re back at the Bournemouth University, Fern Barrow, Bournemouth from 8pm till at least 2am.

Only 5 quid to get in and ALL proceeds shared amongst the 5 DJ’s of the night. We’re boasting our residents of Dave Morris and Paul McKay – two prolific DJ’s on the world wide soul scene plus our valued guest DJ’s comprising Danny North, Tim Smithers and Mark Jones.

I’m creaming my pants already and I’ve still got 3 days to wait :D So, in keeping the soul alive in the deep South, be sure to pay us a visit. After all, at only £1.80 a pint it’s a cheap night out filling your ears with the most fantastic music you’ll ever hear!

If you need any more info please, email me and I’ll help you out… accommodation, directions, anything :D

I’VE NOT BEEN OUT SINCE RIMINI…. PLEASE, AT LEAST ONE DJ, PLAY ME THE VIBRATONS, CAUSE YOU’RE MINE!

Get your diary’s out… 18 August is the date to record.

There is the most fabulous line-up of DJ’s ready to pander to our soul needs – you’ll be creaming your pants!

Having been let down by two DJ’s we’ve secured two more! What did you expect? :D

We’re now boasting Mark Jones and Tim Smithers! Together with Danny North, Paul McKay and Dave Morris your bones are sure gonna ache on Sunday :D

This is the one and only night in Bournemouth bringing you Soul, Mowtown, Latin, R&B, Mod, Modern and Northern Soul! All on your doorstep.

The important facts are… only £5.00 in and £1.80 a pint. We’re open all night too!

Remember, this is a non-profit shindig! All monies go to the DJ’s to ensure their expenses are covered and their record collections grow!

Where?

Bournemouth University, Barrow Way, Bournemouth. 18th August. 8pm!

There’s nothing else on in our area of any interest so why not come an sample the authenticity and passion. We’ll leave you begging for more!

Annie and IWell, being that I’m typing this, I made it back alive. At Stansted Airport I nearly asked two armed Policemen if I might borrow one of their stab vests for the weekend but thought twice about it seeing as they were packing not only hip shooters but big fuck off machine guns too :D

As in past years we arrived in time for lunch and an afternoon snooze. Not as many people around on the Friday night this year but a brilliant time had by all anyway. Found myself rather inebriated outside in the cafe til 7am Saturday morning arguing with a lad who’s just bought an Impreza – we were arguing about 6 pot brakes LOL. I’m not sure what we found to argue about but it didn’t spoil our weekend and we remained friends.

Lindsay was poorly all weekend… I’m surprised she didn’t cancel but being the brave little thing she is she constantly dosed up on paracetamol and kept going. I’ve never seen anyone shiver so much in temperatures reaching the late 30′s!

A largish Italian contingent arrived for the Saturday night all looking bloody stunning in my opinion. The biggest laugh I had was being sat with Annie (D’Arcys Girlfriend) when she kept parading around in her big pants. What a trooper :D

We had arranged to leave on the 10.35pm flight from Forli on the Sunday so had lots of time to meander the streets of Rimini, again taking in a lovely lunch. We were flabbergasted to find a bunch of partying soulies outside the IO club at 6pm who had been there ALL DAY without going home at all…. blimey, that’s hardcore for you :D We tattled for an hour about the possibility of taking a contingent across the Irish Sea to the next Sleepless Nights shinannigans so I’ll look into it. Watch out Ireland, we’re on our way :D

You can find lots of photos I took if you click the camera! camera_32.gif

Next stop I believe is Farnborough next Saturday!
