My Hairdresser is off to Florida on Thursday. Her bad! I need a haircut but alas, I’ll have to wait. Florida has many different locations that indeed give travellers different experiences.Amelia Island is such a destination that is really aside from the run-of-the-mill Florida experience so I thought I’d highlight it for you!

I’ve been trying for yonks to educate my children in the art of conversation and speaking well. It’s come to fruition. My Son can argue like a Politician and my Daughter has allowed her Chav Text Speak to fall by the wayside favouring a well versed English tone to come to the fore. I like that.
You can be a thick as two short planks but if you speak well that’s 2 rungs up the ladder for you in front of those who can’t.
I’ve always fancied a Spanish course myself. It’s such a beautiful and sexual language; plus of course it’s widely spoken each side of the United Kingdom! Is this the next biggest spoken language next to English? I think so Antonio Banderas springs to mind here…. have that!
I believe that speaking well opens many doors that might otherwise be closed and by speaking well you magnetise your given audience who’ll happily listen to what you have to say.

I’ve not read a book since I married Dan, and now that we’re divorced I picked up a book again for the first time in 8 years! I’m a sucker for Romance novels… Romancing the Macabre that is
My latest voyage down the murderous Romance Novels aisle found me picking up Relentless by Simon Kernick. A tale of murder from the very first page with a relentless ‘chase’ till the very last page. I quite liked it but really it lacked oomph for want of a better word.
My thoughts keep turning back to a book I read some 10 years ago. It was Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. What a great Author he is. Captivating throughout his storytelling with a respectful reality thanks to his in-depth factual research. If you’re looking for a thick book this Winter I thoroughly recommend it. A love story between a Master Builder, his Children and his work. A fascinating insight into early England and the way it was ran by the corrupt Church. Now there’s a surprise
I’m also a huge fan of Robin Cook who, being a Medical Director, writes fiction around his real life profession. You know him, famous for Coma! He certainly knows how to romance the medical profession and I love his writing style and delivery.
I’ve noticed lately that Mills & Boon have broadened their library to include not only Romance novels but also genres such as Historical, Medical and Intrigue! Intriguing indeed! I guess the most attractive thing about Mills & Boon is their prices. If you’re after a bed-time story they’re just the ticket. Perhaps I should start reading a few proper romance novels to help find my good side instead of continually exposing my bad side
I’ve also just read a book by Robin Cooper …. bwahahahaaaaa What a businessman’s nightmare. Or any other man, dignitary or Royal Family member. He tries to romance just about anyone and everyone. His absolutely hilarious letters written in a supposedly serious manner are nothing but a ‘poke your tongue out’ tirade of comedy gold.
I personally loved his attempt to romance Marks and Spencers into becoming interested in his latest fashion collection… I wont ruin it for you, go grab the book!
Having been made envious of friends’ recent excursion to Soul In The Sun I’ve been thinking about my own Winter break. Something to re-charge my levels so I don’t get SAD
Thinking back to my previous holidays to Maldives makes me want to go back for a 3rd time! It was just gorgeous as you can see from my photos!
